Zavoral & Sons, Inc. recently broke ground on a
project to reroute the Old English Coulee Diversion Canal
southeast of the airport. The canal is being relocated farther
from the airport’s runways and redesigned to reduce
wildlife-attracting standing water. The $2.6 million project
is scheduled for substantial completion the end of December. |

Members
|
|

Gary
Malm
Hal
Gershman |
The City of Grand Forks and Grand Forks
County by recent concurrent actions have increased membership of
the Grand Forks Regional Airport Authority Board of
Commissioners from five to seven members. The new city
ordinance specifies that one new member--who must be a sitting
city council member--will be appointed by the president of the
city council. The ordinance also specifies that the other new
member-- who must be a sitting county commissioner--will be
appointed by the Grand Forks County Commission. Terms of these
new members will be five years, the same as existing members.
City council president Hal Gershman has appointed himself to one
of the new positions and the county commission has appointed
Gary Malm to fill the other. |

Pinnacle Airlines takes over airline ground
handling
|
|

|
Pinnacle Airlines, a Northwest Airlink, has
contracted with Northwest Airlines to perform the ground
handling duties at the Grand Forks International Airport.
Northwest Airline's bankruptcy reorganization resulted in the
elimination of their ground handling positions in many of the
airline's outlying stations. Several Northwest employees
changed uniforms and continued their careers with Pinnacle.
We appreciate the Pinnacle employees' efforts to make this a
smooth transition. |
